CECAM PSI-k WORKSHOP

Ab initio Theoretical Approaches to the Electronic Structure and Optical Spectra of Materials

INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

In order to achieve the objectives of communication between different disciplines and comparison of different approaches to excited-state calculations, the general style of this meeting will be informal with sufficient time for discussion besides plenary talks and poster presentations. There will be a focussed general discussion as well as discussion time after each talk. A definite scheduled program will be available at the beginning of September.

Each day of the workshop will be divided into a morning session (9:00-12:30) and an afternoon session (14:30-18:00). Invited talks are allocated 35 minutes, with a third of the time reserved for discussion. Contributed talks will last 20 minutes, including five minutes for discussion. There will be a poster session at the end of the first day.

Following CECAM rule, a living allowance will be available to invited participants,  and a contribution to travel expenses will be made for non European invited participants. Some bursaries for European Ph.D. students and postdocs will be available from the Psi-k Network. The NanoPHASE Research Training Network will finance the participation of the NanoPHASE members.

Participants should book accommodation by themselves either in hotels at Lyon (see CECAM information at http://www.cecam.fr/practical/hotels.html ) or in the Maison d'Hotes of the ENS (contact Ms. Emmanuelle Crespeau for further information). Important: there are few rooms available in the Maison d'Hotes, and reservations should be made with enough anticipation.

Do no hesitate to contact any of the organizers if you have any query and/or question
