The 23rd European Conference on Surface Science deals with both
fundamental and applied aspects of surface science, covering a large
variety of topics including electronic structure and dynamics. The
conference takes place in Germany a few days before this Wilhelm and
Else Heraeus-Seminar. Participants of both meetings can conveniently
travel between the conference sites using the direct Intercity Express
train connection between Berlin and Bonn.
This large-scale conference covers theoretical and computational
research of electronic structure and properties of matter, including
electronic excitations. The conference carries the motto "Toward
atomistic materials design" and is supported by the Psi-k Programme
and Network of the European Science Foundation. As it is also held
in Germany, starting two days after this Wilhelm and Else Heraeus
Seminar, participants can easily combine visits to both events during
the same trip.
