Training

A major concern of the ETSF core groups is to develop methods for theoretical spectroscopy both from the view point of theoretical physics and the implementation in software packages. Methods and software packages are spread in the community of ETSF users and beyond. It is only natural that the ETSF is dedicated to spread also the knowlegde and experience gather in this community.

The ETSF regularly organizes training events targeted at young researchers pursuing, or wishing to pursue, a career in the area of theoretical spectroscopy. Training is also offered upon request to other users, such as experimentalists, scientists working in industry, or researchers working in a similar field. ETSF users can apply for specifically targeted training, for small groups or for a single person.

In the past these training activities were conducted for example in the hands-on TDDFT schools and workshops held in Benasque or in the frame work of CECAM workshops to mention only two regular events among others. Future events will be announced through several channels of communication and as well on this web page.

An on-line training portal on the methods of theoretical spectroscopy is available for dedicated students of the theoretical background as well as interested or potential users of the facility. The training modules outline the essential features and aim to aid further in-depth study of the theory in an on-line fashion.
